Coast Guard catches grief for not helping boat

The Tasu has been stuck in the Stinson Beach surf for a week now, but it might be the Coast Guard that is taking the greater pounding.

Many locals in the San Francisco area are still fuming about why the Coast Guard did not respond to help the Tasu's commercial fisherman owner, who was finally forced to abandon it and walk to shore. The boat was uninsured.

"It's very frustrating that a man lost his livelihood because some government agency that gets paid by the taxpayers wouldn't come out," said Stinson Beach fire Chief Kenny Stevens.
