Coast Guard Foundation searching for rescue stories

The Coast Guard has rescued more than one million people since it was established in 1790.

Currently, the Coast Guard Foundation is collecting stories for its One in a Million campaign Web site.

Are you one of the million people who lived another day because of the brave men and women of the United States Coast Guard, who go out when no one else will?

Does your family have a story that has been passed down through generations that tells the tale of a heroic Coast Guard rescue?

Each of these individuals has a story to tell about the experience and how the Coast Guard's role as "America's Maritime Guardian" has made a difference in his or her life.

For 40 years, the Coast Guard Foundation has been committed to supporting important projects and programs that seek to improve the lives of Coast Guard members and their families
