Coast Guard Foundation seeks to increase awareness


The Coast Guard Foundation, in partnership with Discovery Communications, announced the premiere of a new public service announcement aimed at increasing awareness for its mission.

Launched concurrently with the announcement, the Coast Guard Foundation has developed the micro-Web site,, to include additional versions of the PSA and provide interested parties with information on the foundation, its efforts and ways to support its work. Initially airing on the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" TV show, the PSA and accompanying Web site launch promote the foundation's mobile giving initiative that allows donors to easily and conveniently give $10 to the Coast Guard Foundation by texting RESCUER to 50555.
