Atlantic Challenge’s three-season sailing program began April 28 with the Colby College sailing team practicing on 420 sloop-rigged dinghies, and finished with the new Atlantic Challenge High School sailing club racing against seven other teams in the Casco Bay JV Invite Regatta in Portland on Oct. 23.
Atlantic Challenge finished a respectable fourth.
The Atlantic Challenge Community Sailing Program has grown over the past seven years from an eight-week summer program to 20 weeks of sailing, with more than 200 youths and adults taking part in the sailing, rowing, racing and community events this year.
Atlantic Challenge is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring personal growth through craftsmanship, community and traditions of the sea.
