Community sees boating lifestyle suffer from spill

Rick Zern, a lifelong sailor and part-time rigger in Pensacola, Fla., has been reluctantly helping local pleasure boaters pull their vessels from the water.

"We've probably decommissioned 15 or 20 boats so far,'' Zern told the Miami Herald. He has been busy lowering masts for people determined to move their boats away from the massive oil plume spreading across the Gulf Coast.
