A retired British couple in their 60s about to set off from a Caribbean port on a circumnavigation was attacked by armed robbers who left the husband floating dead face down in the water next to his boat.
The retired financial consultants were halfway through a dream six-month sailing trip when they moored in Fort Vieux, an industrial town on the island of St Lucia.
Relatives said the wife had been “badly beaten up” but was being “very strong” in order to help the police with their investigation, according to a report by The Daily Mail.
