Deadly weekend on U.S. waters

Two notable boating accidents occurred over the weekend, one in the Northeast and one in the Southeast.

In Florida, a 24-year-old Hollywood man has been identified as the person killed along the Intracoastal Waterway when a boat he was on crashed into a concrete dock.

"The boat was going at a high rate of speed," said Liz Barraco, a spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, told The Sun-Sentinel.

In Massachusetts, a woman on a boat fell overboard into the water, then had her arm severed by a boat propeller in Boston Harbor.
"It was extremely chaotic," Petty Officer Thomas Ciarametaro told MyFoxBoston. "Not only were there people in the water, and a young lady that had been injured, [but] we had nightfall on us."
