Members of the Seattle Tollycraft Club helped R.M. "Tolly" Tollefson celebrate his 99th birthday last weekend.

"They bring the parties to me now instead of me going to them," Tollefson told the Peninsula Daily News.

Tollefson is the designer of the Tollycraft.

Tollycraft Yachts opened in 1952 and built pilothouse, flybridge, long-range cruisers, plus cockpit- and aft-cabin cruisers through Tollefson's retirement in 1987 at age 76.

In 2006 Tollefson was given the Jerry C. Bryant Award, by the National Marine Trades Association, for "most outstanding contribution to the marine industry by an individual within the industry."
