Drone Photos Released of Cape Cod’s Largest Shark

Last week, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy shared drone photos of the largest shark that has ever been tagged off Cape Cod.

The 18-foot female white shark is named Curly, after her unique, curled dorsal fin. She was seen eating a humpback whale carcass in 2010, and this newly released drone footage shows her spanning half the length of the research vessel.

Curly is the fifth shark that has been tagged for Dr. Greg Skomal’s white shark study. She was last spotted in 2012.
