On June 10 at 6 p.m., The Apprenticeshop opens its doors and shores to invite the public for an evening of free sailing and rowing on Maine's Rockland Harbor.
Visitors will have the opportunity to try a variety of small boats and tour all three floors of the boatbuilding shop. Between boat rides, a campfire on the beach and toasting marshmallows for s'mores round out the family-friendly program. No prior experience required, life jackets will be available and visitors will be matched with experienced yachtsmen. Those interested should come dressed for the weather.
The event is part of the monthly series, Second Thursdays at The Apprenticeshop.
The Apprenticeshop, a school for traditional boatbuilding and seamanship, is located at 643 Main Street in Rockland, and offers a variety of courses for both adults and children in boatbuilding and sailing.
