Father, son take icy swim to escape boat fire

A father and son from Thomaston, Maine, swam several hundred yards in 47-degree ocean water Tuesday afternoon to escape a fire that quickly consumed their lobster boat.

"It's pretty remarkable" that the men survived, Jeff Nichols, a spokesman for the Maine Marine Patrol, told WMTW News. Blake Anthony was "shivering" and experiencing symptoms of hypothermia, he said.
