Feds offer financial support for offshore wind farms

The U.S. Department of the Interior has issued a news release announcing new funding opportunities for up to $50.5 million will be made available for projects that support offshore wind energy.

Four designated Wind Energy Areas offshore of the Mid-Atlantic states (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia) have been identified for use of environmental studies, large-scale planning and expedited approval in an effort to speed offshore wind energy development.
