Fisherman falls from boat and drowns

Police would not release the identity of the 47-year-old man who was a crewmember aboard the fishing vessel Sunlight, which was docked for repairs in New Bedford, Mass.

The victim was one of two crewmembers staying with the ship, said Lieutenant Jeffrey Silva, a police spokesman.

Video from a surveillance camera showed the man slipping off the walkway and into the water, about 15 to 20 feet below, Silva said. He was unable to swim back to the ship, he said.
