Flames destroy charter sail pioneers’ vacant ‘castle'

Firefighters battled a July 17 blaze at a vacant mansion in Miami Beach once owned by the Windjammer Barefoot Cruises family. The house sold for $7.6 million in 2007. The mansion, originally built in 1925, had 10 bedrooms, seven bathrooms and more than 11,000 square feet of living area, according to a real estate listing. It also had a billiard room, home theater, gym and indoor and outdoor pools.
