GPS error blamed for high-speed boat crash

A navigational error resulted in a boat running into a breakwall last Friday on Lake Erie, injuring all five aboard.

Jim Perebzak of Wadsworth, Ohio, who owned and operated the boat, put the wrong coordinates into a GPS navigation system and left the boat on autopilot, said Jim Gorman, an investigator for the Ohio Division of Watercraft.
