Greenwich Boat Show returns this weekend

On one weekend, in one place, you can see a bevy of new boats, test drive models that intrigue you, and talk with a multitude of yachtsmen and seafaring experts.

This is the Greenwich Boat Show, the most unique in-water boat show experience in the Northeast. And it’s completely free.

This year’s Greenwich Boat Show will be held April 11-12 on the Mianus River in Cos Cob, Conn., where boaters are invited to walk the docks and actually go out on the open waters of Long Island Sound.

The show has earned an admirable reputation among the region’s boat shows because of its location, incredible variety of motor boats, and ability to allow customers to sea-trial new boats to feel how they handle in open water.

The show features a remarkable selection of boats. Those in the market for luxury, high-end vessels have brands such as Chris Craft, Tiara, Hinckley, Back Cove, Southport Boats, Hunt Yachts, Vanquish, Azimut, Hacker-Craft and MJM Yachts.

Meanwhile, the serious fisherman has a wide variety boats to choose from, including Edgewater, Scout, Grady White, Pursuit, Boston Whaler, Regulator, World Cat and Sea Fox.

Family cruising boats are well-represented with favorites like Sea Ray, Monterey, Carolina Cat, Chaparral, Regal and a choice of pontoon brands.

This year’s show will feature an outstanding selection of 34 different brands, from 15 dealers, showcasing models for fishing, cruising, luxury and family fun. Show organizers recommend attendees visit the show’s website to schedule sea-trials in advance.
