High-end sailboat build introduces new model

Goetz Custom Technologies has unveiled plans to build the first of its new semi-custom sailboats designed by the renowned firm of German Frers Naval Architects.

Goetz says the new G58 will be fast because of its lightweight, but extremely strong, hull. The same prepreg carbon fiber materials and proprietary boatbuilding methodologies that are used to build ocean-racing boats like IlMostro of the Puma Ocean Racing Team will be used to build the G58. Speeds of more than 15 knots are easily achievable on reaches and speeds on any point of sail will be 20 percent or more faster than comparable boats made of other materials.
