In 'less than a minute, the boat was gone'

A witness aboard a good Samaritan vessel that rescued the survivors of a fatal powerboat sinking off New York’s Fishers Island, including the boat’s owner, says the experience has changed his perspective.

Bill Jennings recounts to The Day newspaper the day he responded to the sinking of the 31-foot boat named Priceless.

"We've seen it happen before ... boats getting stranded on the rocks, so it didn't strike us as anything unusual," he told The Day. "By the time we got there, it had to be less than a minute, the boat was gone."
