The deadlines to apply for three named scholarships at the International Yacht Restoration School in Bristol, R.I., for school programs beginning spring 2013 have been extended to a first-priority deadline of Jan. 6 and a final deadline of Feb. 15.
The school’s six-month programs in composites technology and marine systems begin on March 7.
Selection for the three named scholarships is based on merit and financial need. These awards include:
• The Van Beuren Charitable Trust Scholarship; $5,000 to be awarded to a student who is a Rhode Island resident.
• The Marine Trades Scholarship for Women: $5,000 to be awarded to a female student pursuing an education in the marine trades. Special consideration is given to women entering the field or changing careers who have shown interest in the marine trades through professional or personal pursuits.
• The Composite Technology Scholarship: $5,000 to be awarded to a student attending the Composite Technology program.
