Jeanneau Releases the DB43, a Hot New Dayboat Model
Dayboats are a hot trend, and French builder Jeanneau recently revealed the DB43, a new modern-looking model in its premium dayboat line.
With a plumb bow, low profile and contemporary design, the DB43 is a headturner and very different from Jeanneau’s more traditional cruisers. It’s an acknowledgement that more boaters are looking for sexier and more modern designs. American naval architect Michael Peters designed the hull, and Italian designer Camillo Garroni did the interior and exterior styling. The DB43 has two cabins, and up to two heads.
Powered by twin 380-hp Volvo diesels, the inboard model has a top speed of 33 knots and a range of 276 nautical miles at 8 knots. An outboard version for the U.S. market will carry three 350-hp Mercury or Yamaha motors.
