REVISED NAUTICAL CHARTS

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has updated the following nautical charts:

• chart 13006, 33rd ed. — West Quoddy Head to New York;

• chart 13214, 27th ed. — Fishers Island Sound;

• chart 12326, 49th ed. — Approaches to New York Fire Island Light to Sea Girt;

• chart 12402, ninth ed. — New York Lower Bay, northern part.

The new editions are available through NOAA sales agents. A free list of authorized sales agents is available by contacting the National Ocean Service, Distribution Division (N/ACC3), 6501 Lafayette Ave., Riverdale, Md. 20737.

EAST RIVER,

HARLEM RIVER, N.Y.

Spearin Preston & Burrows Inc. will be conducting operations for eight MTA tunnels located in the East River and Harlem River on or about May 24 through March 27, 2007. A floating construction plant consisting of a 120-foot derrick crane barge, a stone barge, and one crew boat will be on scene at various locations. (NOAA charts 12335, 12342)

EAST RIVER,

TALLMAN ISLAND, N.Y.

Trevcon Construction is conducting pier work at the NYC DEP Tallman Island Water Pollution Control Plant through April 9, 2008. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crane and material barges will be moored outboard to the dock facility during this time. (NOAA charts 12339, 12366)

JAMAICA BAY, SHELLBANK BASIN & ELDERS POINT MARSH, N.Y.

Miller’s Launch will have a landing barge and flat deck spud barge perpendicular to shore in approximate position 40 38 50.4N, 073 50 10.8W through Aug. 30. Additional barges and assist vessels will be on scene transporting sand, logs, plants and shrubs to Elders Point Marsh. These vessels will be operating seven days per week during daylight hours. EAST RIVER,

BETWEEN ROOSEVELT ISLAND & BELMONT ISLAND, N.Y.

Weeks Marine has barge W277 spudded down between Belmont and Roosevelt Island until around Aug. 31. Barge W277 will be used as a temporary mooring platform for the upcoming East 63rd Street tunnel hardening project. The barge will be lit and remain on scene overnight. (NOAA chart 12335)

EAST RIVER,

ROOSEVELT ISLAND, N.Y.

Weeks Marine is conducting operations in the East Channel of the East River between the Queensboro Bridge and Roosevelt Island Bridge until around Aug. 31. The hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., using a spud barge and support vessel. This portion of the East River is closed to all traffic through Aug. 31, except for commercial vessels making deliveries to the Keyspan Ravenswood facility. Mariners are advised to plan accordingly and transit the area with caution using the West Channel. All work vessels will be lit and remain on scene overnight. (NOAA chart 12335)

NEW YORK HARBOR, N.Y.

The Coast Guard has received a report of a submerged wire from a towing bridle near Ellis Island in approximate position 40 41.55N, 074 02.20W. All vessels are requested to proceed with caution if attempting to anchor in the area. (NOAA chart 12334)
