This information is taken from the 5th Coast Guard District’s Local Notice to Mariners alerting boaters to navigational changes or hazards. The list here is not an official Coast Guard statement but edited excerpts from recent notices. The notices also are available online at www.navcen.uscg.gov.

NJ - PA - DELAWARE RIVER – HORSESHOE BEND REAR RANGE LIGHT – AIDS TO NAVIGATION CHANGE

On or about Sept. 30, Horseshoe Bend Range Front Light (LLNR 3540) will be changed to Horseshoe Bend Directional Light (LLNR 3540), visible 1.5 degrees either side of range line, lighted throughout 24 hours. (Chart 12313)

MD – SUSQUEHANNA RIVER – AIDS TO NAVIGATION RELOCATION

On or about Sept. 30, the following aids to navigation will be relocated for the safety of navigation:

1. Susquehanna River Channel Lighted Buoy 11 (LLNR 27645) to 39-29-57.572N, 076-05-17.919W;

2. Susquehanna River Channel Lighted Buoy 12 (LLNR 27650) to 39-29-57.810N, 076-05-15.060W. (Chart 12274)

NC - CAPE HENRY TO

PAMLICO SOUND – MANTEO CHANNEL – AIDS TO NAVIGATION CHANGE

On or about Sept. 30, Doughs Creek Light 2 (LLNR 28545) will be discontinued. Position of the aid is no longer accessible to aids to navigation servicing units due to shoaling. (Chart 12205)

NJ – MANASQUAN INLET - MANASQUAN RIVER – BRIDGE INFORMATION – PUBLIC NOTICE

Mariners are advised that the Coast Guard is removing the existing drawbridge operation regulations for the Route 70 Bridge, mile 3.4, across Manasquan River at Riviera Beach, N.J. The existing bridge was modified by permit from a movable bridge to a fixed bridge. Since the bridge is no longer a movable bridge, the regulation controlling the opening and closing of the bridge is no longer necessary. On or about Aug. 6, the Coast Guard was set to discontinue North Channel Entrance Buoy 2 (LLNR 21365) and relocate Middle Ground South End

Lighted Bell Buoy 4A (LLNR 380) to 37 00 42.084N, 075 55 29.928W. Chart: 12221.
