PROVIDENCERIVER AND

HARBOR, R.I.

All mariners are advised that U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredging operations in the ProvidenceRiver have been completed. Effective immediately, the controlling depth for 40-Foot Entrance Channel, Rumstick Neck Reach, Conimiut Point Reach, Bullock Point Reach, Sabin Point Reach, Fuller Rock Reach and Fox Point Reach is 40 feet at MLLW. The Special Navigation regulations for Narragansett Bay and the ProvidenceRiver found at 33 CFR 165 remains in effect. A review of the regulations is currently being conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard. For information, contact Edward Leblanc of Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England at (401) 435-2351.

REVISED NAUTICAL CHARTS

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has updated the following nautical charts:

• chart 13218, 40th ed. - Martha’s Vineyard to Block Island

• chart 13221, 57th ed. - Narragansett Bay

The new editions are available through NOAA sales agents. A free list of authorized sales agents is available by contacting the National Ocean Service, Distribution Division (N/ACC3), 6501 Lafayette Ave., Riverdale, Md.20737.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to this waterway in March:

• change MatinicusIsland lighted bell buoy 9MI (LL 3280) nominal range to 4 NM.

NANTUCKET SOUND AND

APPROACHES, MADAKET

HARBOR, MASS.

Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to this waterway in April:

• relocate Madaket Harbor Approach lighted bell buoy 2 (LL 15295) to approximate position 41 18 57.4N, 070 11 24.4W, approximately 400 yards from assigned position to better mark best water.

BOSTONINNERHARBOR, WINTHROPHARBOR

APPROACH, MASS.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to this waterway:

• change Winthrop Harbor Approach lighted buoy 5 (LL 11050) from replaced by can from Jan. 1 to Mar. 15, to replaced by can when endangered by ice. This change will take effect during the winter season of 2008-2009, and will provide a lighted signal all year round.

BOSTONINNERHARBOR, LOWER MIDDLE CHANNEL, MASS.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following changes to this waterway in March:

• change Lower Middle Channel buoy 3 (LL 11140) to Lower Middle Channel lighted buoy 3 (LL 11140), flashing green 2.5 seconds (LED).

PENOBSCOT BAY, FOX ISLAND THOROFARE, ME.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following changes to this waterway in March:

• change Fox Island Thorofare lighted bell buoy FT (LL 4000) nominal range to 4 NM.

This change is to incorporate the new light emitting diode (LED) technology.
