Maine congressman in boat accident

A water taxi carrying U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree collided with a 20-foot recreational boat in Maine’s Portland Harbor. The congressman escaped injury, but three others were hurt, including her husband, Portland financier S. Donald Sussman.

The damaged Miss M, a 20-foot Grady White Overnighter, is docked at Portland Yacht Services in Portland on Sunday, according to a report by the Press Herald.

The Miss M and a water taxi collided Saturday night, injuring three people, including Portland financier S. Donald Sussman.

His boat, the Miss M, a Grady White Overnighter 20, was seriously damaged, with its fiberglass bow caved in above the waterline. The extent of damage to the water taxi was unclear. The Coast Guard planned to examine both vessels in more detail.
