Maine man launches the ‘ca-boat’

For a century or so, Maine lobstermen have raced their workboats on a racing circuit where $500 in cash and a barrel of lobster-bait herring is considered a big prize.

Competitor Stevie Johnson, who's not even a working lobsterman, created his own unique boat and named it Sunbird because the pilothouse is a Pontiac convertible on a hull powered by outboards and reaches speeds approaching 65 miles per hour.
