Malibu Boats launched a new Surf Band, saying the wrist remote gives surfers total control of their waves while surfing.

Riders can tap the surface of the patented band and change the size, length, shape and speed of the wake, the company says. The Surf Band has the ability to do so when riders remotely dial in preferences to the Surf Gate and Power Wedge II hydrofoil.

Wakeboarders can use the Surf Band to control the Power Wedge II and their speed as they ride.

“For years, Malibu has led the towboat category globally, developing unprecedented innovations that change the industry for the better and get more and more people passionate about watersports,” CEO Jack Springer said in a statement. “Several years ago, when we were first developing Surf Gate, we also developed and integrated the Surf Band technology to add another dimension to our total-package Integrated Surf Platform, giving what is truly the ultimate wakesurf experience to our customers, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a kid just learning how to surf.”
