Marine anti-terrorism exercise impresses

Resembling the set of an action movie scene, San Francisco Bay was the scene for a realistic simulated air-and-sea, small-boat gunbattle put on by the Coast Guard. Two small RIB boats, manned by Coast Guardsmen dressed all in black and carrying simulated rocket-propelled grenades and pretending to be terrorists on a raid against a cruise ship, a tanker or one of the bay bridges, were intercepted by a Coast Guard H-65C Dolphin helicopter. A marksman aboard the copter fired blank rounds at the “terrorists.” Click here to read a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.
