Navy tests ‘green’ boat

The U.S. military's heavy dependence on fossil fuels has motivated the Navy to roll out the first military vessel designed to run on eco-friendly fuel.

The Navy has rolled out what it calls a "mean, green riverine machine" - a 49-foot camouflage gunboat that attains speeds of 40-knots - in a demonstration at the Norfolk (Va.) Naval Base.
