Post says its semicustom 53 Convertible is designed for sportfishing fanatics and cruisers alike. The modified-vee hull has a fine entry, and the keel, chine and bottom are built of hand-laid solid fiberglass, according to the New Jersey builder. Post uses vinylester resin during initial layup, high-density foam coring above the waterline, and balsa coring on the foredeck and deckhouse. A blanked-out windshield and unbroken sheer line lend to the boat’s sleek look.
The 53 has a maximum beam of 16 feet, 11 inches. The cockpit is 11 feet, 7 inches long and has a molded non-skid fiberglass sole, top-loading bait freezer, removable in-deck fishboxes, transom bait well, fresh- and saltwater washdowns, tackle storage and a bait prep center.
In the saloon, there is an L-shaped lounge to port and a television housed in teak cabinetry to starboard. Forward of the saloon is a U-shaped galley to port and a dinette to starboard.
The layout below deck calls for three staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom is to port, with a queen-size island berth, teak night stands, stereo and 13-inch television, and private head with shower. The starboard stateroom has upper and lower berths, and the forward stateroom can be laid out with a queen-size island berth or upper and lower berths. The second head is between the starboard and the forward staterooms.
The flybridge has a centerline helm, adjustable helm and companion seats, aft safety rail with six rod holders, and bench seating to port and forward of the helm. A hardtop and enclosure are optional.
Engine options range from twin 825-hp to twin 1,200-hp diesels.

The Q560 is a sporty rigid-hull inflatable from Novurania. The so-called “Q” measures 18 feet, 5 inches overall, with a beam of 8 feet, 4 inches for a total of 53 square feet of deck space. The layout can be fully customized, according to the company, including various electronics packages.
Stainless steel grab rails on the gunwales are within reach of passengers sitting on the RIB’s wraparound bench seating. The built-in benches have drawer storage beneath to make the most of the available space, according to Novurania. The skipper sits on a bucket-style helm seat to starboard. The company says the helm console was designed with the height restrictions of today’s yachts in mind. Opposite the helm, to port, is a boarding step.
There are boarding steps on both sides of the RIB’s 150-hp outboard — basically a split swim platform with a large step to port and starboard that leads into the boat. The steps are accessed from the water using a folding swim ladder. A freshwater washdown is near the swim platform.
The Q uses Hypalon tube material, and a D-shaped collar provides additional interior space, according to the company. The RIB is available with Novurania’s PROTEX protective expanded collar, which is filled with a lightweight closed-cell foam rather than air. The PROTEX collar adds protection and buoyancy, according to Novurania.
