Cruisers 477 Sedan

Cruisers Yachts marks its entry into the sedan market with the new 477 Sport Sedan, a contemporary cruiser with a two-stateroom, two-head layout.

The swivel helm seat and companion seat are located on the flybridge. Set up for entertaining, it includes a wet bar, refrigerator, L-shaped lounge, and table. A hardtop with forward, side and aft curtains is standard. Starboard-side steps lead aft to the cockpit, available with aft seating, a fold away table, icemaker and a wet bar. Access to the swim platform, with boarding ladder, is through a transom gate. A transom davit system is available.

The saloon, accessed from the cockpit through sliding doors, has 360-degree views, an L-shaped lounge to port, convertible settee to starboard, and 26-inch LCD television. A central vacuum system is standard.

Moving forward, the galley is to starboard, with a circular dinette to port. The galley has a synthetic teak-and-holly sole, and comes equipped with a coffee maker, microwave/convection oven, electric two-burner stove and refrigerator/freezer. A dishwasher is optional, and owners can choose from the optional icemaker, wine captain or trash compactor.

The staterooms, one forward and the other amidships, both have island berths. Optional LCD televisions are available, and the amidships stateroom has three vertical ports and can be equipped with a washer/dryer.

Power comes from a pair of diesel V-drives with electronic Volvo Penta D9 diesels rated at 500 hp or 575 hp each. Base price with 500-hp D9s is $767,000.

Luhrs 41 Open

The Luhrs 41 Open is the express-style counterpart to the builder’s 41 Convertible, introduced two years ago. The 41 Open has a solid fiberglass bottom, while the hull sides and molded, one-piece deck are cored with Baltek. The hull has a flared bow, 56 degrees of deadrise at entry, and 18 degrees of deadrise at the transom.

The standard, welded aluminum tower has an upper helm station, three-person cushioned bench seat, and eight rocket launchers. The 100-square-foot cockpit contains a 50-gallon live well, bait prep station, and two 45-gallon in-deck fishboxes, all molded. Flip-back seating serves the cockpit and the raised bridge deck, and there is additional seating on the bridge deck.

Below, the master stateroom forward has a queen-size island berth, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and storage bins. A convertible dinette/double berth is in the saloon. The L-shaped dinette is located on the starboard side of the saloon, and the head compartment (with shower) and galley are to port. The galley, located abaft the head, comes equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, Corian countertops, sink, electric two-burner stove, and refrigerator/freezer.

Options include a “summer” galley on the bridge deck, bridge deck air conditioning, and a swim platform.

Legacy 32

Legacy Yachts is adding a 32-footer to its line of 28- to 54-foot Down East-style cruisers for model year 2006. Designed by Mark Ellis, the Legacy 32 shares the “Durahull” design — fiberglass and Core-Cell coring infused with vinylester resins — of the larger Legacy models.

There are long settees on both sides of the bridge deck, the starboard settee containing the helm seat and the port the companion seat. The seats lift out of the settees, and their forward armrests act as backrests for the helm and companion chairs. Teak decking is available for the bridge deck.  The cockpit has bench seating across the transom, and a teak swim platform with a stainless steel ladder is available.

Below deck, there is a centerline island berth forward, galley to port and head compartment with separate shower to starboard. The interior is finished in high-gloss cherry. There is a hanging locker between the galley and berth, and aircraft-style lockers can be fitted along the hull ceilings in the berth. The straightforward express-style layout places the galley down, equipped with such amenities as a two-burner stove, sink, refrigerator and storage.

The boat comes with a 4-hp bow thruster and has underwater exhaust. A 12-volt windlass is available.

Century 2400 WA

Century’s new 24-foot walkaround slots in between its 22- and 26-foot models. The cabin has 6 feet, 2 inches of headroom, and is laid out with a forward convertible dinette/V-berth with filler cushions. The galley to port is equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator and freshwater sink. The cabin also houses a portable marine head, and there are rod racks along the starboard ceiling. A pumpout system is available as an option, as is an electric head with holding tank.

The cockpit is self-bailing and fitted with bolsters. Standard fishing features include a 280-quart insulated fishbox beneath the helm seat, 37-gallon bait well beneath the companion seat, and foldaway aft bench seating. There are four stainless steel rod holders in the gunwales, and rod storage on the starboard side.
