Ocean Alexander 46 Classicco

Ocean Alexander has reintroduced its 46 Classicco, a raised pilothouse two-stateroom sedan that features hand-laid fiberglass construction with a solid fiberglass bottom, a Portuguese bridge, and a second helm station on the flybridge.

 The saloon, accessed through a sliding door from the cockpit, contains an L-shaped settee to starboard with a high-low table, and a flat-screen television in a pop-up rack to port.


The galley is to starboard, forward of the L-shaped lounge, and features a serving shelf to pass items into the main saloon, double sink, stove and refrigerator/freezer.There is a pair of engine room hatches in the saloon, in addition to an access hatch and lazarette in the cockpit sole. Up several steps from the saloon is the raised pilothouse, laid out with a centerline helm station and a settee/berth with table abaft the helm seat. There is side deck access through sliding doors on both sides of the pilothouse, and access to the dinghy deck and flybridge from the port side deck.

The master stateroom, below and beneath the pilothouse, has a queen-size athwartships berth. Hanging lockers flank the island berth, and there is a third hanging locker to port. Also to port is a private head compartment with a separate shower stall.

Moving forward, a second head with separate shower compartment is to starboard, and the second stateroom is in the fo’c’sle. That cabin has upper and lower berths with storage underneath, ceiling shelves and a locker.

Hydraulic steering, teak paneling and cabinetry, stainless steel exterior hardware, and a 9-kW Onan generator are standard. The builder also is introducing new 74- and 98-footers this year.

Cigarette 38

Cigarette Racing Team redesigned its 38-footer for 2006 as the 38 Top Gun GT with a low-profile hull and deck. The success of the new 39 Top Gun Unlimited last year prompted the 38’s facelift, according to the builder.


 Cigarette says the Top Gun Unlimited is equipped with staggered, large engines, while the new Top Gun GT has a more economical arrangement with smaller engines installed side by side.

The standard power package for the 38 is a pair of 525-hp Mercury Racing engines, on steel engine mounts, connected to ITS Bravo XR outdrives. Mercury trim tabs are standard.

There is an upholstered sunpad over the hydraulic engine compartment hatch and an aft lounge seat in the cockpit. The helm station is equipped with a GPS speedometer (with speed recall) and a Gaffrig gauge cluster.

The Top Gun GT’s so-called “cover girl” cabin has a forward berth, bench seating and concealed portable marine head. A VacuFlush head, refrigerator and air conditioning are available as options, as is a swim platform.

The 38 is built using vacuum-bag construction and rides a cored deep-vee hull. Decking also is cored.

Four Winns 318 Vista

Four Winns has introduced a new express cruiser for 2006, as the builder marks its 30th anniversary.

 The 318 Vista shows an S-shaped sheer line and has six stainless steel opening cabin port lights and a curved windshield, as well as an integral swim platform, welded bow rail, non-skid on deck and cockpit surfaces, and radar arch.


The cockpit contains U-shaped stern seating, a refreshment center to port (with an icemaker or refrigerator), and portside lounge seating forward. The double helm seat has flip-up bolsters.

Below, the 318 has a forward berth, open galley and saloon area, and midcabin. The forward berth is raised, with storage underneath, and includes a cedar-lined hanging locker and privacy curtain. The midcabin also has a privacy curtain and contains a U-shaped lounge with a removable table that converts to a berth. The sofa in the saloon also has a removable table and converts to a berth.

The galley is to starboard and is equipped with a coffee maker, sink, cutting board, microwave, refrigerator, and two-burner electric stove. A flat-screen TV/DVD player is situated above the stove for viewing from the sofa. Air conditioning and heating are standard, as are carbon monoxide detectors.

Scout 262 Abaco

The 262 Abaco is a new cuddy cabin model from Scout Boats that slots between the builder’s 242 and 280 in the Abaco series.


 The 262 has plenty of fishing features, including a 192-quart fishbox, 20-gallon lighted live well, four stainless steel flush-mounted rod holders, four horizontal cockpit rod racks, and four tackle drawers positioned to port and starboard.

Outriggers and a hardtop with four rocket launchers, spreader lights and an electronics box are optional.

The self-bailing cockpit has coaming bolsters, a flip-up stern seat, 8-inch stainless steel pop-up cleats, and port and starboard swim platforms. There also are fresh- and raw-water washdowns.

Below, the cabin contains a V-berth, quarter berth, galley area and head compartment. The galley comes equipped with a butane stove, refrigerator and sink, while a microwave and upgraded refrigerator are available as options. Other options include air conditioning, full enclosure package, vertical windlass, teak trim and a teak and holly sole and hull color upgrades.

Boston Whaler 150 Montauk

The 150 Montauk from Boston Whaler is a 15-foot center console that has a bow locker with overboard drain and a helm seat with a reversible, locking backrest. Standard equipment includes a heavy-duty rubrail, welded stainless steel side rails,

three 8-inch stainless steel cleats, and bow and stern lifting eyes. The console comes equipped with a stainless steel steering wheel, welded stainless steel grab rail, acrylic windshield, electric switch panel, access door to the battery box and two drink holders.


The boat/engine/trailer package includes a swing-tongue trailer for easier garage storage, according to Whaler, and options include a swim ladder, bow cushion, “classic” bow and side rails in lieu of the standard rails, 36-quart cooler seat with cushion and backrest, four console-mounted rod holders, and fishing and electronics packages.

The fishing package includes the cooler seat, rod holders, live well and tackle drawers. The electronics package includes a Navman fishfinder and VHF radio. A canvas top and covers also are available.
