Sabre 52 Salon Express

The Sabre 52 Salon Express is a two-stateroom Down East cruiser with a planing hull and twin-inboard power. With 865-hp Caterpillar C15 diesels, a cruising speed of 31 mph produces a range of 340 nautical miles. Construction includes vacuum-bagged foam core in the hull bottom and topsides, knitted biaxial structural E-glass reinforcements with vinylester resin, a composite stringer system and gelcoat finish.

The 52 has a fully enclosed saloon and helm area, a glass aft enclosure and a sliding sunroof in the hardtop. There’s bench seating in the cockpit, and inside the raised bridge deck area there’s a port-side U-shaped lounge with table that converts to a berth, a lounge chair and entertainment center with a hidden flat-screen television and wine chiller to starboard. An L-shaped lounge with an icemaker beneath is forward and to port, across from the helm area with twin pedestal seats.

Below, the master stateroom is amidships to starboard, with the galley to port and guest stateroom forward. The master stateroom has a private head compartment with a stall shower, queen-size island berth with storage, a pair of nightstands, cedar-lined hanging lockers, a dresser, LCD television with DVD player and Shoji-style pocket doors that create an approximately 4-foot-wide entrance. The forward stateroom includes private access to the guest head, a queen-size island berth and an LCD television with DVD player. The galley comes equipped with a three-burner electric stove, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator/freezer drawer units, dishwasher, coffeemaker and a stainless steel sink. Price is $1.28 million.

Marlago 35 Open

Jefferson Yachts, builder of cruising powerboats and megayachts from 42 to 95 feet, has for more than a decade built a 35-foot outboard-powered center console under the Marlago name. The company has redesigned the Marlago Sport for 2008 with new features that include a streamlined console.

The console is designed with space to fit a large electronics display, and it integrates all gauges and switches into one panel. A glove box has been added, the battery switches have been relocated from the footrest area to a remote battery control panel, and the company says the wraparound styling of the new console provides a more “sporty” look.

Other new features include optional seating packages that incorporate a 50-gallon live well with dual bolstered helm seats or a storage-only unit with an adjustable leaning post. There’s a head compartment in the center console.

The Marlago Sport is also available in a cuddy version with a V-berth forward and a convertible bench seat aft. Options include a galley unit with stove and sink, air conditioning, a generator and a dinette. Price is $172,800.
