Sea Ray 48 Sundancer

The new 48 Sundancer express cruiser has a standard hardtop with a pair of large opening “sunroof” hatches. The swiveling double helm seat has a flip-up bolster, armrests and pneumatic vertical adjustment.

The helm station has SmartCraft instrumentation and hydraulic tilt steering. A Raymarine GPS and VHF radio are standard, while a Raymarine autopilot, radar/GPS/chart plotter, and fishfinder are optional. There is L-shaped bench seating to port and U-shaped seating aft with storage underneath. Below deck the forward stateroom has a full-size centerline berth, port and starboard hanging lockers, and a 17-inch flat-

 

screen television/DVD player standard. A head compartment to port has private access from the stateroom, and a separate shower compartment is to starboard. The saloon has a convertible L-shaped sofa, hi-lo dinette table, and entertainment center with stereo system and a 23-inch flat-screen television with a DVD player. The galley, to port, is equipped with a two-burner stove, microwave/convection oven, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer and stainless steel sink. A midcabin stateroom has twin berths and private access to a head/shower compartment.

Air conditioning is standard, and the options include a washer/dryer, bow thruster, and cockpit refrigerator in place of the standard icemaker.

Albemarle 410 Convertible

Albemarle’s 410 Convertible joins the 410 Express Fisherman at the upper end of the North Carolina builder’s lineup, which starts at 24 feet. The flybridge comes equipped with a pair of pedestal helm seats, bench seating and locking rod storage. A half-tower — with antenna and radar mounts, rod holders, two electric teaser reels and a Strataglass enclosure — is optional, as are outriggers.

 

The cockpit is outfitted with a live well, bait prep center, four flush-mounted rod holders, insulated in-deck fishbox with macerator, transom fishbox and a transom door with a gate. There also is a fresh- and raw-water washdown. The galley, forward and to starboard in the main cabin area, is equipped with Corian countertops, cherry cabinetry, two-burner stove, refrigerator and microwave/convection oven.

 The saloon has an L-shaped settee with a table to port of the galley, and an L-shaped lounge that converts to a berth aft. An entertainment center has a television, DVD player and stereo system.

Below deck, the 410 has two staterooms and a head accessible from the master stateroom and the hallway. The master stateroom has a queen-size island berth and a cedar-lined hanging locker, while the other stateroom has twin berths.

Construction is hand-laid solid fiberglass with vinylester resin, finished with gelcoat. Power comes from a pair of 700-hp diesels.

Nauset 33 Bridge Deck/Aft Cabin

Nauset Marine builds custom powerboats from 25 to 38 feet, and the 33 Bridge Deck/Aft Cabin is among its latest models. The company produces anywhere from three to nine boats a year, says company vice president Dawson Farber, depending on the nature of the custom work and the sizes of boats ordered.

The 33 is built of hand-laid solid fiberglass with a vinylester resin barrier coat, and the deck is molded fiberglass with molded-in non-skid on walking surfaces. The boat has hydraulic steering and full instrumentation at the helm. There’s standing headroom in the cabin, which has a V-berth forward, enclosed head and shower compartment, and L-shaped settee with dinette table.

 

The galley is equipped with a sink, electric stove, refrigerator and cabinets. The aft master stateroom has a queen-size island berth and separate master head and shower compartments. The interior is finished with sound-deadening material and teak trim.

Other features include trim tabs, welded stainless steel hand rails, pressure water, hot-water heater, stainless steel prop shaft, and bronze propeller and rudder. Power for the 33 comes from a single 370-hp Yanmar diesel.

Skeeter ZX24Bay

Texas boatbuilder Skeeter, known for its bass boats, is expanding its saltwater line with a new 24-foot bay boat. The ZX24Bay, a fiberglass composite boat with a self-bailing cockpit, is outfitted for fishing. It has a 32-gallon circulating live well aft and center, as well as a 10-gallon crab/shrimp well aft. There are deck storage compartments with liners fore and aft, which give the boat a pair of casting platforms. A pneumatic hideaway aft bench seat is designed for two.

The ZX24Bay is equipped with vertical rod holders built into the console. The leaning post also has rod holders, and there is a 94-quart cooler beneath the flip-up seat. The boat has a removable windshield, tilt hydraulic steering and courtesy lights on the console. There also is storage for an anchor and fire extinguisher. An aluminum tandem-axle trailer with brakes is standard. Options include a removable 54-quart cooler forward of the console, bait

prep station, washdown system, ski tow bar, stainless steel handrails, compass and a console bait well.

A single outboard is standard, and a twin installation also is available. Top speed with a pair of Yamaha F-150s is 55 mph; cruising speed is 27 mph.

Glastron DS 215

The DS 215 deck boat has room for more than 12 people, according to Glastron, and starts at $32,459. The 21-footer has sterndrive power, wraparound bow seating, a forward swim platform and a bow anchor locker. Bow filler cushions also are available. The boat has a head compartment with Porta-Potti. The helm, to starboard abaft the head compartment, has a bucket seat with flip-up bolster. To port is a dockside boarding gate, cushioned seating with backrests and a refreshment center with sink. There is space beneath the sink for the boat’s carry-on cooler.

The DS 215 has a non-skid fiberglass deck and comes equipped with stainless steel grab rails, cockpit courtesy lights and telescoping boarding ladders. A ski tow ring is standard, while an extended swim platform is optional. Other standard features include an automatic bilge pump, depth sounder, and Sirius satellite radio service for the boat’s stereo system.

 

A fishing package is available as an option, as are a Sunbrella canvas cockpit cover, docking lights, compass, and a table with bow and aft floor mounts. Color schemes include blue, black and red.
