 Cabo 52 Express The 52 Express from Cabo Yachts is the California-based builder’s largest model, riding a modifed-vee hull with 16 degrees of transom deadrise and recessed trim tabs.

 

The 52’s molded fiberglass construction uses vinylester resins throughout, with vacuum-bagged Core-Cell hull coring and biaxial stitched fabric reinforcement.The cockpit is set up for fishing, fitted out with padded coamings, non-skid sole and an aluminum backing plate for a fighting chair. Other fishing features include a molded-in 75-gallon transom bait well, insulated fishboxes with macerator pumps, and a bait-prep center with tackle storage, sink, rigging board and insulated icebox. The helm area hasL-shaped lounge seating to port with storage underneath, a refrigerator/freezer/ice maker to starboard, a centerline Stidd helm chair, and matching port and starboard Stidd companion chairs.

Below, the 52 has a twin-stateroom layout with a pair of heads. The saloon has an L-shaped lounge with table to port and an enclosed head compartment with shower to starboard of the companionway steps. The galley, forward and to starboard, comes equipped with a four-burner stove, microwave/convection oven, sink, refrigerator and freezer.

Just forward of the saloon area is the guest stateroom, located to port and with twin berths. The second head compartment is to starboard. The main stateroom is forward and can be laid out with an island double berth or a trio of singles.

The 52 has a transom gate with an outward-opening tuna door, and a fiberglass swim platform is available as an option. Other options include a washer/dryer in place of the icemaker on the helm deck (beneath the starboard companion seat), teak and holly cabin sole in lieu of carpeting, and teak decking on the helm deck.

 Larson Cabrio 350 Larson Boats has introduced the Cabrio 350, a 36-foot express cruiser with a hardtop and canvas camper package standard. The 350 has a hot and cold transom shower and an in-transom storage compartment.

There is room for a dinghy outboard. The cockpit, accessed from the swim platform by the walkthrough transom with gate, has removable bench seating aft. The seating area also includes an aft-facing bench, cockpit table and filler cushion. In addition, there is a wet bar with sink, and a cockpit refrigerator is standard. The helm area has U-shaped lounge seating to port, and the helm chair has a flip-up bolster and footrest.

Below, the layout includes a V-berth forward, galley to port, saloon seating area with a cherry dinette table to starboard, head compartment to starboard, and a midcabin lounge/berth. Storage near the V-berth includes a cedar-lined locker. The galley comes equipped with a coffeemaker, microwave, two-burner electric stove, refrigerator and a sink. A 15-inch flat-screen television with DVD player is standard.

The twin-sterndrive Cabrio 350’s hull is notched for better performance, according to Larson, and has 18 degrees of deadrise at the transom.

 Regulator 29 The Regulator 29 is available in two configurations: the 29 Classic and the 29FS with forward seating, designed to be more family-friendly. The 29 Classic (pictured) is built for serious fishing.

 

It has three forward in-deck fishboxes, 84-quart transom bait box, and 30-gallon transom live well. It also has a pair of 88-quart in-deck fishboxes and a 520-quart in-deck fishbox that doubles as lockable rod storage. With the 29FS, a pair of 200-quart in-seat fishboxes replaces the 88-quart boxes.

The 29’s center console includes an enclosed stand-up head compartment with lighting and an electric marine head. The console also has an electronics box and a 64-quart cooler forward, with seating for two. A fiberglass T-top, rocket launchers and outriggers are optional, as are a three-sided enclosure, upgraded leaning post, stainless steel bow rail, and coaming pads.

Standard equipment includes pop-up bow light and cleats, Lenco trim tabs, molded-in non-skid, stainless steel hardware and through-hulls, triple battery system with switches, electrical system with circuit breakers and cockpit lighting. Yamaha’s Command Link digital instrument network is included with factory-installed engines.

 Rinker Captiva 246 The Captiva 246 Cuddy slots between the Syracuse, Ind.-based builder’s Captiva 226 Bowrider and Captiva 262 Cuddy.

As with many sport- and deckboats, the Captiva 246 has an integral swim platform. The sterndrive is tucked underneath. There’s also a wakeboard storage compartment with a built-in seat, transom shower and an aft sunpad.

The main cockpit/helm area has wraparound lounge seating and a stowable snack table, as well as helm and companion suspension bucket seats with standard flip-up bolsters. At the helm, the 246 has a curved walkthrough windshield, Faria gauges, backlit instrumentation and tilt steering. A Sirius satellite AM/FM CD stereo system is included, as are an anchor locker and stainless steel bow rail.

Below, the boat has a hideaway portable marine head, portable single-burner gas stove, clothes storage locker, V-berth that sleeps two, dinette table and cabin lighting. A flip-down combination television/DVD player is optional. Base price with a 270-hp Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi is $42,233. The boat also is available in bowrider and ski/wakeboard configurations.

 Wellcraft 215 Bay Wellcraft this year has introduced a line of bay boats, starting with the 215 Bay and 195 Bay. Both boats have an 8-foot, 6-inch beam, and forward and aft casting platforms. The 215 Bay has an anchor locker in the bow, as well as a dry storage box.

 

 There is a 55-gallon insulated fishbox and lockable rod storage forward. Port and starboard bow cushions are optional.

Moving aft, it has a 29-gallon lighted bait well with cushions forward of the center console. There are eight console rod holders, a stainless steel grab rail on the console, and a 92-quart flip-back cooler seat. Optional helm seats include a stainless steel seat with five-position backrest or a leaning post with backrest, each with a 72-quart cooler.

The 215 has hydraulic steering with a stainless steel wheel standard. At the stern is a removable transom storage bin to starboard, a release well in the center, and an optional 15-gallon lighted bait well to port. Other options include electric trim tabs, aft bench seat with removable backrest, T-top, Bimini top, console tackle drawers, a seat for the forward casting platform, and hull colors. Suggested price with a 4-stroke Yamaha F115 outboard is $27,425.
