Jefferson 45 Rivianna SE
The 45 Rivanna Special Edition Sundeck from Jefferson Yachts is an extension of one of the Jeffersonville, Ind., boatbuilder’s other recent designs, the 42 Rivanna SE, introduced in 2005. The 45 shares the same 14-foot, 5-inch beam as the 42, along with a similar layout, but includes some new features and an additional 2 feet, 11 inches in overall length.
The 45 Rivanna’s newly designed integral transom has a molded staircase to the aft deck, beneath which is the master stateroom. The master has a private head compartment with a shower and tub, queen-size island berth on centerline, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and a satin-finish teak bureau and cabinetry.
The saloon is located amidships, above the engine room and beneath the flybridge. It contains an L-shaped sofa with a table to starboard and an entertainment center to port. Forward and a couple steps down is a dinette to starboard and U-shaped galley to port. The galley is equipped with a refrigerator, sink, stove and microwave. Forward and side cabin windows let light into the saloon and galley areas. The guest stateroom is forward and has a full-size berth. There also are head and shower compartments in this area of the boat.
Topside, the 45 has wide side decks with molded stairs leading to the aft deck and flybridge. The flybridge helm station is on centerline, and there is a settee to port and a large L-shaped settee with table aft and to starboard. A Bimini top is standard. Other standard equipment includes a washer/dryer, air conditioning with reverse-cycle heating, 8 kW Westerbeke generator, anchor windlass, and electronics.
The boat is built of solid hand-laid fiberglass, with Nida-Core honeycomb coring in the decks, superstructure and engine room bulkheads. Like other Jefferson SE models, Uni Shine Marine of Zhuhai, China, builds the 45 Rivanna SE.
