Cavileer 44

The Cavileer 44 is a two-stateroom convertible built of hand-laid fiberglass and vinylester resins by New Jersey boatbuilder Cavileer Yachts. The hull sides, deck and cabin top are cored with end-grain balsa, and the bottom is solid fiberglass. Designed by Cavileer and naval architect Donald Blount, the shallow-draft boat draws 3 feet, 3 inches.

Helm and companion pedestal seats are located aft on the flybridge, with lounge seating forward. Flybridge options include a fiberglass T-top with rocket launchers, spreader lights and overhead electronics, as well as enclosures, air conditioning and upgraded helm chairs.

The cockpit measures 150 square feet, and has indirect lighting, lights in the flybridge overhang, an insulated fishbox, live well, tackle center with sink and refrigerator/freezer, and a transom door and gate. The saloon, a couple steps up from the cockpit, has an entertainment center, L-shaped sofa with rod storage to port, cocktail table and dinette with storage. The galley, forward and to port, comes equipped with an electric stove, microwave/convection oven, and refrigerator/freezer. Granite countertops are available. In the galley sole is a lighted storage compartment.

Below, the 44’s master stateroom is forward, with the second stateroom placed to starboard. The master stateroom has a private head compartment with twin sinks, an island berth with storage beneath, a pair of cedar-lined hanging lockers, nightstands with reading lamps, and a flat-screen television. The second stateroom has bunk berths, with a cedar-lined locker above the standard washer and dryer. The starboard head compartment, with overhead hatch and separate shower stall, can be accessed from the companionway or the starboard stateroom.
