New fishing show debuts on Fox Sports network

A new outdoor sports show hosted by “the most controversial figure in outdoor sports” debuts in April on Fox Sports Net.

“The Best And Worst Of Tred Barta” will feature the sports adventurer Tred Barta taking marlin and tuna from deep sea canyons with light tackle, and hunting bear and cape buffalo at close range in remote wilderness with a wooden bow.

The half-hour show is scheduled to air April 9 at 5:30 p.m., with encores April 10 at 10:30 p.m. and April 13 at 5:30 p.m. on Fox.

A pilot and writer, Barta pens his “For The Record” column in Sport Fishing magazine and has written articles for magazines from Sports Illustrated to Big Game Fishing. His book, “The Best & Worst Of Tred Barta,” kicked up controversy among fishing and hunting buffs who debated whether Barta was too critical of the modern approach or a welcome throwback to the essence of outdoor sport.
