UltraMean-2 Super Power Powder is an oxygenated stain remover and cleaner from Rhino Hide. When mixed with water, the concentrated sodium

carbonate peroxyhydrate uses foaming action to brighten surfaces, and the solution’s strength can be matched to the stain. The company says the cleaner uses a non-chlorine bleaching agent and is safe on most water-washable exterior or interior surfaces, including the hull, aluminum, glass, canvas, tarps, vinyl, rope, teak, carpeting and sails. A 12.5-pound pail ($69.95) makes up to 50 gallons of solution, a 2.7-pound tub ($16.95) makes up to eight gallons, and a 0.5-pound pouch ($4.95) makes up to two gallons. Rhino Hide, Eaton Park, Fla. With Raymarine’s wireless LifeTag system, crewmembers wear pendants that communicate with a base station on the boat to sound an alarm if

someone falls overboard. The wireless pendants — which can be worn on the wrist or attached to a PFD, harness or belt — weigh 1.5 ounces and operate for about 2,000 hours with a lithium camera battery, according to Raymarine. LifeTag has connections for 12-volt DC power and Raymarine’s SeaTalk network, and can trigger the automatic man overboard function in SeaTalk-compatible chart plotters, radar and instruments. The system also can be manually activated for on-board emergencies. The $685 suggested retail price includes two pendants; additional pendants retail for $115. Raymarine, Merrimack, N.H. The Newport 400 MK II desalination system is designed for powerboats from 34 to 50 feet or cruising sailboats from 36 to 60 feet whose owners

want to use less power, according to manufacturer Spectra Watermakers. The Newport 400 MK II is more compact and lighter than its predecessor, with such new features as a brushless DC filtration boost pump in lieu of a 50-micron filter, two speeds for maximum water production or maximum energy efficiency, a prefilter backwash system to prolong filter life, and an additional touchpad control located on the unit. The system produces 16 gallons of water per hour on 12-volt DC power, according to Spectra, and also can run on 24-volt DC power. Suggested retail price is $9,995. tested to 30 feet and are guaranteed submersible, according to the company. A “headphone buoy” for storage when not in use and spare ear buds are included. The company says the headphones provide great sound quality both in and out of water — for those who are so inclined. Suggested retail price is $40. Aquapac also offers a waterproof MP3 player case.
