Nordic Tugs names president, chairman

The Nordic Tugs board of directors acted quickly to fill the leadership gap created by the death of president/CEO Jim Cress.

The board promoted David Goehring to company president and appointed Gary Miller chairman of the board.
Goehring, a 14-year marine industry veteran, had been running day-to-day operations since 2005 as executive vice president. He started at Nordic Tugs in 1996 as controller and was promoted to chief financial officer in 2000. Earlier, he had worked with Cress, managing brokerage finance for Cress’ yacht dealership, SkipperCress Yacht Sales. He has held accounting positions with a number of companies during the last 20 years, including Parker Paint Co., Rabanco Corp. and Safeco Insurance Co.
Miller, who has more than 30 years of financial management experience, most recently was president of the private investment firm Cumberland Capital Corp.
Nordic Tugs, headquartered in Burlington, Wash., manufactures tug-style yachts from 26 to 54 feet.
