REVISED NAUTICAL CHARTS

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has updated the following nautical charts:

• chart 14781, 20th ed. — Riviere Richelieu to South Hero Island,

• chart 13272, 48th ed. — Boston Inner Harbor,

• chart 13275, 29th ed. — Salem and Lynn Harbors,

• chart 13293, 34th ed. — Damariscotta, Sheepscot and Kennebec Rivers,

• chart 13221, 55th ed. — Narragansett Bay,

• chart 13229, 29th ed. — South Coast of Cape Cod and Buzzards Bay.

The new editions are available through NOAA sales agents. A free list of authorized sales agents is available by contacting the National Ocean Service, Distribution Division (N/ACC3), 6501 Lafayette Ave., Riverdale, Md. 20737.

SOMES SOUND, ME.

A submerged object/uncharted obstruction has been reported in the eastern edge of Somes Sound in approximate position 44 18.5N, 068 18-5W. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution while transiting the area. (NOAA chart 13321)

SOMES SOUND APPROACH, ME.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to aids to navigation in December 2004:

• delete Baker Island whistle buoy 8BI (LL 2035). (NOAA charts 13003, 13006, 13260, 13312, 13313, 13318)

JERICHO BAY, ME.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to aids to navigation in December 2004:

• delete Egg Rock bell buoy 8 (LL 2800). (NOAA charts 13312, 13313, 13315, 13316)

PENOBSCOT BAY, ME.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to aids to navigation in December 2004:

• relocate Grindel Point lighted bell buoy 2 (LL 4390) to approximate position 44 16 56.7N, 068 56 53.2W, and rename to Grindel Point lighted bell buoy 8 (LL 4390). (NOAA charts 13302,13309)

BURNT COAT HARBOR, ME.

The Coast Guard was scheduled to make the following change to aids to navigation in December 2004:

• delete Burnt Coat Harbor Entrance whistle buoy BC (LL 2665). (NOAA charts 13006, 13260, 13312, 13313)

NEWBURYPORT AND

PLUM ISLAND SOUND,

MERRIMACK RIVER, MASS.

Construction is ongoing to construct a temporary bridge to facilitate Route 113 vehicular traffic at mile 47.4 across the Merrimack River at Tyngsborough, Mass. Barges will be located at various locations in the waterway. Mariners should exercise caution while transiting through the area. (NOAA chart 13282)

BEVERLY, MASS.

Dredging is being done on the Bass River until March 30. The hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. On scene is a dredge, scow and tug. (NOAA chart 13276)

MARTHA’S VINEYARD

TO BLOCK ISLAND,

WESTPORT RIVER, MASS.

Rehabilitation of the Route 88 highway bridge, mile 1.2 across the Westport River, at Westport, Mass., is under way. Work barges will be located at various locations at the bridge. Mariners should exercise caution while transiting the area. (NOAA chart 13218)
