NYYC's annual cruise returns this weekend

After an absence of 60 years, some of the sleekest sailing yachts in America will take part in the 155th New York Yacht Club's Annual Summer Cruise from a starting point off New London, Conn.

More than 100 vessels, sailing yachts and their powerboat tenders, will provide a rare informal boat show as they will be moored and berthed around the area over the weekend. Boats will begin arriving Friday night, giving sail fans the chance to go for a race offshore during the day on Saturday or watch them depart Sunday in a Parade of Sail down the Thames River.
