Only one way out for backyard built boat

A British father and son spent six years building a 38-foot powerboat in their backyard, then realized it was too big to launch.

John Couzens, 53, estimates his eight-ton boat to be worth $275,000, but that was irrelevant unless he could get the vessel out of his cramped backyard.

In the end he had to hire a crane to hoist it over his two-story home in Kent, England.

The father-of-four said watching the Evolution 38i boat, named Out Of The Blue, hovering over the roof of his $470,000 four-bedroom house was a moment he will never forget.

“There was a moment when I thought - this could all go horribly wrong,” he told The Daily Mail.
