OpSail is big splash in its final port

Tall ships and military vessels filled New London harbor in Connecticut last weekend for the final port of call for OpSail 2012, a celebration commemorating the bicentennial of the War of 1812.

On Sunday, crowds filled New London for OpSail and the city's annual Sailfest.

"It's a magnificent day here in New London: plenty of blue sky, nice wind, and phenomenal ships," OpSail spokesman Bruce MacDonald said.

Nearly one million people are estimated to have attended.
