Passengers recount Virginia boat crash

The chief accusers of a Richmond, Va., fire department captain charged with felony murder and other crimes in a fatal boating crash this summer on the Rappahannock River were his passengers.

Steven W. Nixon, 39, of Beaverdam in Hanover County, was found guilty yesterday of two misdemeanors: driving a boat while under the influence of alcohol and reckless operation of a boat. He will be tried in January on seven felony charges.
