Police: captain and crew too drunk to boat

Police and fire officials removed a boat full of people Saturday night from Chesapeake Bay after they suspected no one on board was sober enough to operate the vessel, a Department of Natural Resources spokesman said.

Responders discovered the powerboat, a 36-foot Sea Ray, had struck a rock piling near the center span of a bridge, and the skipper and nine passengers appeared to be "very intoxicated," DNR spokesman Sgt. Brian Albert told the Capital Gazette.
