Ponzi schemer's luxury boats up for auction

It wasn't the plush carpet, cherry wood veneer, pop-up TVs or Corian countertops that drew dozens of prospective bidders to check out four of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein's forfeited luxury boats Tuesday.

It was the lure of possibly saving hundreds of thousands of dollars on a multimillion-dollar vessel.

"That's what they're looking for here, a good boat for a good price," said Leroy Goldstein of Fort Lauderdale, whose partner is considering whether to buy one of the watercraft and ship it to Turkey for resale. "They're looking for a bargain."
