A 10-mile-long ribbon of red tide was spotted in New York Harbor Monday and the Coast Guard warned swimmers and boaters to steer clear of it.
"We planned on taking her [a boat] out for the holiday and taking a dip, but we can't with that algae floating around," said Rocco D'Antoni, 52, of the upper West Side.
"You can't swim. You can't fish. I don't want any of that stuff getting on me."
