Mystic Seaport, the historic Southeastern Connecticut port, will host the fourth annual Rowing History Forum on Sunday, March 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the River Room at Seamen’s Inne, according to a recent press release.
The event, co-hosted by the National Rowing Foundation and Friends of Rowing History, will feature a tour of the new location of the National Rowing Hall of Fame in the G.W.BluntWhiteBuilding of the seaport’s museum. One of the exhibits includes a retrospective on one of the inductees, the 1956 Yale Crew, according to the release.
Other events include special guest David Wight, a member of the 1956 Olympic Gold Eight, who will provide a presentation on his winning crew; and Thomas Weil, who will discuss the history of American rowing and the founding of the National Association of Amateur Oarsmen (NAAO).
