It might have been standing room only when Oracle Team USA skipper Jimmy Spithill addressed the U.S. Sailboat Show’s sold-out launch party in Annapolis.
For those who weren’t lucky enough to make that venue, the National Sailing Hall of Fame posted the discussion between sailing legend Gary Jobson and Spithill on its website.
The America’s Cup’s youngest helmsman discussed attracting entrants to the next America’s Cup and suggested that the America’s Cup World Series, sailed in 45-foot catamarans, will continue. He also hinted that the AC45s could be modified to foil like the AC72s that were sailed in the Louis Vuitton and America’s Cup races.
The event was sponsored by the National Sailing Hall of Fame, Sailing World and Cruising World.
