On May 7, the schooner Sultana will arrive at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md.
The replica schooner will be at the museum and on the Chesapeake with students throughout the week. The Sultana will be open for boarding to all museum visitors from 2:30-5 p.m. on May 10.
The schooner serves as an on-the-water classroom for learning about the history and environment of the Chesapeake Bay.
An almost exact replica of a British schooner that patrolled the North American coast just prior to the American Revolution, Sultana provides day-long programs for up to 32 participants as well as liveaboard programs for up to nine guests.
